Drop-in anchors are internally threaded sleeve anchors that are inserted into a pre-drilled hole and expanded with a setting tool, permanently flaring the bottom of the sleeve against the concrete. The result is a flush, female-threaded socket that accepts a standard bolt or threaded rod at any time after installation — ideal where the final fixture is added later in the construction sequence.
Hyrax Fasteners machines its drop-in anchors from carbon steel or stainless steel barstock with precision-cut internal threads to standard metric pitches. The knurled or ribbed outer body increases rotational resistance once expanded, while the chamfered leading edge allows smooth, straight insertion into the drilled hole.
These anchors are widely used for suspended ceiling grids, HVAC duct hangers, conduit supports, machine base mounting and any application where a flush, reusable threaded connection point is required in a concrete slab, wall or column. Zinc-plated carbon steel anchors suit general indoor use, while SS 304 / 316 versions are specified for damp or corrosive areas.
