Quality Assurance
Quality at Hyrax Fasteners is built into the manufacturing process itself — from raw material verification to final proof-load testing — aligned with recognised IS, ASTM, DIN and ISO standards.
A Stage-Wise Quality Process, Not A Final Checkpoint
Rather than relying on a single inspection at the end of the line, Hyrax Fasteners builds quality checks into every production stage. This reduces rework, improves consistency across batches, and ensures non-conforming material is identified early.
- Incoming raw material verified against mill certificates for grade and composition
- Dimensional inspection at every production stage using calibrated gauges
- Thread profile checked with go / no-go gauges on a sampling basis
- Hardness testing for heat-treated, high-tensile grades
- Proof-load and tensile testing on representative samples per batch
- Surface finish inspection for coating thickness and adhesion
- Final packing inspection for quantity, labelling and documentation accuracy
Manufactured To Recognised National & International Standards
Our products are manufactured with reference to the following standards, selected according to product type and project specification. Mill test certificates and batch test reports are available on request.
| Standard | Applicable To | Description |
|---|---|---|
| IS 1367 | Hex Bolts, Nuts & Through Bolts | Technical supply conditions for threaded steel fasteners of property classes up to 12.9 |
| IS 5624 | Anchor / Foundation Bolts | Specification for foundation bolts and matching lock nuts |
| ASTM A325 / A490 | Through Bolts & HSFG Sets | Heat-treated structural bolts for steel-to-steel joints |
| ASTM F1554 | Anchor Bolts | Standard specification for anchor bolts across multiple strength grades |
| DIN 931 / DIN 933 | Hex Head Bolts | Hexagon head bolts with shank (931) or full thread (933) |
| ISO 3506 | Stainless Steel Fasteners | Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners |
| IS 2062 | Structural Steel (Raw Material) | Specification for hot-rolled medium and high-tensile structural steel |
Dimensional, Mechanical & Finish Testing
Our quality control lab is equipped to verify dimensional accuracy, mechanical performance and finish durability across the production range. Testing frequency is determined by product type, grade and batch size, in line with applicable standards.
- Visual and dimensional inspection (vernier, micrometer, thread gauges)
- Hardness testing (Rockwell / Brinell) for heat-treated components
- Tensile and proof-load testing on universal testing machines
- Salt-spray testing for galvanized and plated finish durability
- Torque-tension verification for structural bolt assemblies
- Batch traceability records linking output to raw material heat numbers
Process Control From Forging To Final Inspection
Precision engineering is maintained throughout the production sequence — not only at final inspection. Each stage below contributes to the dimensional and mechanical consistency of the finished fastener.
Raw Material Inspection
Certified steel and stainless bar stock is inspected for chemical composition and dimensional accuracy before release to production.
Forging & Cold Heading
Bars are forged or cold-headed to shape, preserving grain flow for maximum strength in heads, bends and hooks.
Thread Rolling & Machining
Threads are rolled or precision-machined to metric standards, with in-process gauging on every batch.
Heat Treatment
High-tensile grades are quenched and tempered in controlled furnaces to achieve specified hardness and toughness.
Finishing & Dispatch
Parts are surface-finished, proof-load tested, packed to project specification and dispatched with documentation.
