Through bolts pass completely through two or more components and are secured with a nut on the protruding end, distributing clamping force evenly across the joint. They are a primary fastener type in structural steel fabrication, where beam-to-column, splice and bracing connections rely on consistent preload to perform under design loads.
Hyrax Fasteners manufactures through bolts in property classes from Grade 4.6 mild steel through to Grade 8.8 and 10.9 high-tensile steel, cold-forged and heat-treated for controlled hardness across the head, shank and thread. Full-thread and half-thread (shank) configurations are produced to suit shear and bearing connection design requirements.
Each batch is supplied with matched hex nuts and flat or spring washers from the same material grade, and is hardness-tested, dimensionally checked against IS / ASTM gauges, and proof-load tested before packing. Hyrax also offers HSFG (High Strength Friction Grip) bolt sets for slip-critical structural joints.
